The Micky Kemp Band have an almost cult-like following but deserve greater recognition for the undoubted talent that they are.
Their fusion of rock, soul and country is a terrific blend of several genres of popular music, but who are they?
Micky Kemp - well, Micky writes the songs, plays rythmn geetar and sings. His devastating good looks and charm (his words, nout ours!) have made him a big hit with the over 70's and under 5's, it seems to have failed miserably on all points between.
He is ably assisted by one of the UK'S great guitarists, Darrell Bath, who sings a bit too and plays lead guitar. A master of understated playing and tone perfection, Dazza loves playing guitar, drinking and british sitcoms, he can be found most evenings watching George and Mildred. Daz can be heard on the SEVERE label.
Also making up the numbers, the affectionately named "BASTARD SON OF OZZY OSBOURNE, otherwise known as the mighty Chiv, and yes he is as bad as he looks, a fine man, drummer and driver. The mighty one is a firm favourite with kids and animals.
The task of "cool man of the band" falls firmly at the feet of our enigmatic bass meister Nigel Taylor, a good dude who enjoys drinking nearly as much as Dazza, slightly more than Micky and a fair old bit more than the Mighty Beast they call Chiv, Nigel has played with many of the UK's great artists.
You can sense the fun that this band portray on stage with their first-class stage performances so do take this opportunity to see them for yourself.
The show starts at 8pm with a disco through to 1am with the ever-popular Chicago's DJ Gary O'Brien in the hot seat.
