Launch of WOW! Wicked on Wednesday

Headline Management are pleased to announce the launch of their new website:

in association with Chicago Rock Cafe Windsor

- WOW! It's no more boring Wednesdays!

You are invited to the launch of
WOW! Wicked on Wednesday
at Chicago Rock Cafe Windsor
Wednesday 7th November with the amazing
MUSIC INFERNO
live on stage with their tribute to
MADONNA

Join us from 8pm with a disco, with your favourite Chicago's DJ
GARY O'BRIEN
taking us through to 1am
Admission only £4
See you there!

Music Inferno is a five-piece band led by Christine Jolliffe as Madonna.
The ensemble faithfully recreates the music and eras of Madonna’s high profile and successful career. Music Inferno not only performs over 25 of the queen of pops hit songs in their show, but for many of them, they’ve re-invented the songs, or used favourite tour arrangements to make the show exciting, a class above the other tributes.
The show has been engineered into 4 segments over two 1 hour halves. The first section is Material World, 2nd section, 80’s Dress You Up Madonna, 3rd Section, Cowgirl Rock and finally the 4th section is Disco Diva themed. The show is self-contained, with a state of the art sound system and lighting rig that was especially designed for our show.
There are no less than six complete authentic costume changes. Every song is fully choreographed and every attention to detail has been incorporated into the show.

UPDATE

It was a brilliant night at Chicago's Windsor. It got off to a slow start but became busier as the evening progressed. Music Inferno were great and had people dancing at their seats (maybe that's the tradition in Windsor rather than use the dance floor lol). Great evening though with DJ Gary O'Brien working his magic and keeping the crowds entertained through to 1am close of business. Thanks for the photo Gary:

New talent to showcase to West End

From an early age, growing up within a musical family attending church, Reading's Sandra Prince was, for many years, an active member of a gospel choir performing around the country.

That has developed into a talent which has brought her to the attention of the music industry for whom she will be showcasing at The Academy Basingstoke this coming weekend.

Her wide-ranging musical career having spanned from fronting rock & soul bands to taking part in amateur productions and stage musicals, Sandra has performed as a solo, duo and backing artist. More recently, she has been the lead singer with Reading’s RESPIN.

On Saturday 27th October, Sandra will appear live on stage in support of leading rock band APE, who are tipped to perform at Glastonbury 2008, and Basingstoke pop and soul sensation SOUL CYDE. The show starts at 8pm and concludes with a disco through til 2am.

Sandra’s interesting soul-rock dimension will entertain the audience which will include specially invited show producers from the West End; at least one record label and a coach from "Stage Magazine" have also accepted invitations.

The show is open to the public and tickets are available at the door of the Worting Road venue priced £5 and further details are available at www.academyclubs.com or by telephoning 01256 327273.

Sex Pistols tribute sign up with Headline Management

The Pistols are a full on tribute to The Sex Pistols, recreating the sound and the look of the 1970's punk phenomenon that literally changed the face of British music.

Formed in 2004 by Paul: a self confessed Sex Pistols fan ever since he was a youngster. Having been in several original and cover bands over the years he set off on a mission: to form a tribute band to legend that is The Sex Pistols.

Paul didn't know any musicians that fitted the bill - all he knew was that he had the voice, and with the help of a few tubs of gel and some orange dye, the look, of John Lydon. He was Rotten to the core!

Paul placed ads on the internet and in the local music press, and within a few weeks had met up with Jon from Watford, another Sex Pistols fan and top notch guitarist.

They met in a rehearsal studio and played along to a drum machine and, after one run through of God Save The Queen, he knew this would be the man to don the Les Paul guitar and play the riffs of Steve Jones.

The pair then set about finding a bass player and drummer, which proved to be more difficult. They eventually found a bass player, but he was a bit young, hadn't really heard much of the Sex Pistols, and looked nothing like Sid Vicious (or Glen Matlock!). Still, he could play, and as the sound was the main thing on the agenda he joined the band.

They then auditioned a couple of drummers. The first was good. A real fan, knew all the songs, but he had one volume and one speed. Paul Cook is a great drummer and there was something missing so they carried on and auditioned Toby. As soon as they started Pretty Vacant things started sounding different.. The tempo was spot on, as was the anticipation of the building drums on the intro. By the first cymbal crash they knew they'd found the right drummer. “Always on time, he had to provide the beat!”

After rehearsing for a few months the bass player went awol, not answering any messages or phone calls. Toby mentioned that he knew a guy, Tim who might play bass for the band. He was predominantly a guitarist, but was at a loose end bandwise so he asked him to come along to a rehearsal. As soon as Tim walked in the rest of the band could saw a potential Vicious. He had the height and the build of Sid. He could also play (unlike Sid!). After a few tracks they all agreed this would be the final lineup.

With the lineup complete the band then spent the best part of 6 months rehearsing and perfecting the first batch of songs that would make up the early sets. It was everything from Never Mind The Bollocks: Pretty Vacant, God Save The Queen, Anarchy In The UK etc, plus a few other classics. By the time they started gigging the sound was perfect, and after a few gigs the look and attitude started to come through.

The band have been going strong ever since, and their set now consists of almost 2 hours of material. They play just about everything the Sex Pistols ever recorded or played live, plus some PiL tracks, some Sid Vicious croonings and songs from the aftermath of the Pistols like Silly Thing.

Venues the band have played include the legendary Standard Walthamstow, The Hope & Anchor Islington, Plinston Hall Letchworth and The Marquee Hertford.

Ever get the feeling you've been cheated? Not with these guys.
